Loreena Mckennitt
Yesterday I went to  a fabulous concert at the Barbican centre London
(5th April 2012)
One of the most fabulous concerts I have ever been to
 and a wonderful night out.
That girl can sing!

(These clips are not from the concert I went to - but they are near enough!)

The Old Ways.
I listen to this a lot while writing Ripples In the Sand
(the fourth Sea Witch Voyage)
It's a song to touch the soul, and instantly brings my characters, Jesamiah and Tiola into my mind.
The thundering waves, the pounding sea - and the call of freedom
I shed a few tears during this song at the concert, I find it so emotional.
(OK, so I'm a numpty. I don't mind being an emotional numpty though)

The Highwayman
my other favourite song.
One day I might turn this poem (and song) into a novel.
I can see these characters so clearly....

Thank you Loreena for a wonderful night of beautiful songs

and thank you to Jenny Barden for coming with me (thank you for the dinner)
so enjoyed hearing about your debut novel Mistress of the Seas
an epic Elizabethan Adventure - can't wait to read it!
